Application review will take into account without limitation the following criteria:  qualifications, education and experience specific to the job description/duties as well as prior experience with Hoffman Construction.   Must be able to pass the Hoffman drug and alcohol test.



  • Draft and Issue Request For Proposal and Request For Quotation packages for Construction Project Buyout
  • Manage Bid Package Processes
  • Receive and compare bids for bid packages, including cost and scope negotiation.
  • Draft and Issue Subcontracts, Purchase Agreements and Purchase Orders
  • Assist in expediting the purchased equipment, by maintaining regular contact with Vendors, keeping detailed logs, and assist in turn-over at the site to the appropriate Subcontractor
  • Provide internal support to Project Teams and Operations as needed
  • Respond to Vendor inquiries (telephone, email, mail, and/or drop-in contacts)
  • Maintain Vendor and project information records

Skills necessary for the Job

  • Good computer skills, including a working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Prolog, JDE, Access is desired, but not required
  • Good writing skills with an understanding of Contracts
  • Good people skills and communication to build working relationships both internally and externally
  • Good organizational skills to handle a diverse range of responsibilities simultaneously


  • Standing/Walking/Sitting: Work day is combination of sitting/walking and standing.
  • Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use.
  • Sight: Visual acuity in near, mid and far range vision. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.
  • Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
  • Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone.
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 40 pound computer/drawings rarely.
  • Bending/Twisting: Minimal
  • Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Rarely


  • Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments. 
  • Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem solving skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results. 
  • Must be able to plan and organize work


  • 5+ years of experience in a construction related setting or purchasing role or a bachelors degree.
